Rating on iqpi.io reflects your strength in rated and tournament games. It starts at 100. After every rated or tournament game, both players’ ratings are recalculated.

Base formula
The calculation depends on the opponent’s rating and on the place weight:
- 1 — first place (win);
- 0.5 — second place (loss).
For each player the amount is:
(sum of ratings × place weight / 1.5) × 0.005
That amount is then added or subtracted depending on whether the ratings were equal before the game and on the result.
If ratings are equal
- The winner gains their calculated amount; the loser loses theirs.
- On a draw, ratings do not change.
If ratings differ
- The higher-rated player lost. The loser loses the amount calculated for first place; the lower-rated winner gains the amount for first place.
- The lower-rated player lost. The loser loses the amount for second place; the higher-rated winner gains the amount for first place.
- Draw. The lower-rated player gains the amount for second place; the higher-rated player loses the amount for second place.
